The front brakes have been updated. The 2025 Yamaha R-7 has 11.7-inch brake calipers instead of dual 11.1-inch diameter discs. The motorcycle also features high-performance tires and wider handlebars (32 mm wider) to improve ergonomics and the riding experience.

Yamaha has completely changed the design of the exhaust and intake manifold, the fuel injectors, the electronic programming, and the turn signals.

The R-7’s engine remains a 690 cm3 (42.1 cubic inch), liquid-cooled, parallel-twin. It delivers 73.4 hp and 49.8 lb-ft of torque.
