Peugeot’s Return to Motorcycle Manufacturing
Peugeot is well known in the US for selling cars. However, for 2025, the French motorcycle manufacturer announced its return to motorcycle production. The XP400 is a new model that should arrive in the US.
Meet the 2025 Peugeot XP400
The XP400 is a new Peugeot motorcycle model that arrives to compete directly with the X-ADV from Honda. The brand presents an SUV motorcycle that promises to go well beyond a premium scooter.
The new XP400 will be produced in France and should be available in two versions: Allure and GT. The engine is a 399cc (24.3 cubic inch) single-cylinder 4-stroke with liquid cooling.
The maximum power of the Peugeot engine is 36.7 hp at 8,150 rpm. The maximum torque is 28 lb-ft at 5,400 rpm. The damping system features a 5.5-inch inverted front fork and a rear monoshock.
Peugeot’s brake system is ABS. The transmission is automatic.
Design
One of the highlights of the French motorcycle is its SUV style. The front end features the traditional design and lines of the motorcycle manufacturer’s cars.
The front lights bear the shape of Peugeot’s ‘lion’ fangs. The design provides a very comfortable seat for trail and city use.
Technology
Peugeot promises a strong and feature-rich SUV motorcycle. Peugeot’s FULL LED lighting is present throughout the motorbike. Both versions offer a USB connector, a smart key, and a storage compartment for a helmet.
The TFT panel and instruments have a 5-inch screen that can be fully connected to smartphones. The GT version brings adaptations for off-road use, such as a suspension for more difficult terrain.
Peugeot should offer extra packages, such as protections, different lighting, footrests, and trunks for off-road use.
The XP400 Allure is expected to be available in Aurora Satin Green and Sideral Matt Black. The GT will have Shark Gray and Snow White colors.
Price
The Peugeot XP400 was announced at EICMA, the international fair for motorcycle manufacturers in Italy. The price is expected to be similar to its competitor, the Honda X-ADV, which costs around $13,500 in the US market.
